Beaches in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam is the largest city and the important politically and economically in Tanzania. The population of the city is 5,364,541 according to official 2012 census. The city is located on the Eastern part of Tanzania and its bordered Indian Ocean. Dar es Salaam International Airport is an International gateway to Tanzania for many tourists who are wishing to visit the Eastern circuit, Southern Circuit and Western Circuit as there is daily International Airlines flying from America, Asia and Europe. For those who are wishing to visit the Northern circuit Kilimanjaro International Airport may be a good choice to access the targeted destinations.

As a big city Dar es Salaam still offers nice beaches for relaxing after or before your safari. For those who can not visit Zanzibar due to time or tight budget they can still explorer beautiful soft and white sandy beaches around Dar es Salaam.


Kipepeo Beach

Situated on the South Coast of Dar es Salaam just 9 km from Kigamboni ferry port, The beach is accessed easily by Ferry’s which are connecting city center and Kigamboni. Kipepeo beach is characterized by white soft sand and surrounded by nice beach resorts. Ras Kutani Beach

 Just 30 km south of Dar es Salaam there is hidden best untouched beach with many things to offer from soft sand to forest and small wild animals. Ras Kutani beach is characterized by white sand surrounded by natural forest. Presence of fresh water lagoon attracts many water birds and that makes a unique feelings being at the tropical beach surrounded by birds, forest and monkeys. The combination of undisturbed wildlife (birds, monkeys and more than 132 variety trees species), fresh water lagoon and blue Indian Ocean waves makes Ras kutani to offer more than just a beach feelings we know.
