Tarangire National Park

Approximately 118 km Southwest of Arusha, covering an area of 2850 sq km, The Park is well known for its huge herd of Elephants and tree climbing pythons. Tarangire has the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. Apart of big number of elephants Tarangire has more than 550 different species of birds. Tarangire River is the only source of water during dry season and that makes thousands of animals to move at the river so as to have water access. Hundreds of elephants and other animals may be easily spotted at Tarangire River during dry season.It is possible to see 1500 elephants and 2000 buffalos in a morning.
